How is this different from copy-pasting or a plain text extractor?

Plain extraction dumps a flat wall of text — columns merge, tables scramble and headings vanish. Marklune is layout-aware: it rebuilds the document as structured Markdown, so headings, lists and tables survive intact and your LLM gets clean, chunkable input.

Does Marklune handle scanned or image-only PDFs?

Yes. Scanned documents and embedded images are read with built-in OCR in over 100 languages, then converted to Markdown just like native text PDFs.

Will tables and formatting really be preserved?

Tables become clean GitHub-flavored Markdown tables, cell for cell. Headings map to H1–H6, and lists, blockquotes and code blocks are kept — so structure-dependent chunking and retrieval just work.

Is my data private and secure?

Files are processed in-memory and deleted within minutes — we never use your documents to train models. Marklune is SOC 2-ready with encryption in transit and at rest.

What can I export, and is there an API?
